Welcome to your 2024  ADVENTURE BEGINS AT YOUR LIBRARY SFPL SUMMER PASSPORT!

Spanish Fort Public Library staff & volunteers are so excited to be a part of your summer reading journey!

The instructions located on the inside front page of your passport read as follows:

"After you put your name label inside the front cover, you’ll need to make sure you have at least two(2) pages for GLOBAL CITY TOUR STAMPS, CRYPTID CLUB STUFF, FAVORITE EVENTS/PROGRAMS, STICKER/PHOTO PAGES, and SUMMER FAVORITES PAGES. Then, place the rest of the labels on whichever page or pages work best for you! LET THE ADVENTURE BEGIN!"

The Labels:

What are the labels for?

So you can sort your SFPL Summer Passport notebook into different sections for use throughout your summer adventures!

What does "GEOCACHE" mean?

According to Wikipedia, :"Geocaching is an outdoor recreational activity, in which participants use a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver or mobile device and other navigational techniques to hide and seek containers, called geocaches or caches, at specific locations marked by coordinates all over the world"

What are Global City Tour Stamps?

Global City Tour Stamps can be collected at SFPL by following the directions on our Global City Tour Page

What is the Geocache Log for?

Use the "Get started with Geocaching" link on the Summer Reading Page to locate geocaches right here in our Spanish Fort neighborhood! Keep track of the caches you've found by logging them in your passport.

Each found Geocache will earn you a reward ticket! Simply show an SFPL staff member your Geocache Log at checkout to get your ticket :)

What is CRYPTID CLUB Stuff?

SFPL's Cryptid Club will commence in July! Cryptid enthusiasts, aspiring monster hunters, and all other summer adventurers are invited to join the hunt! Look for information soon on the Cryptid Club page

What does "BOARD/CARD/RPG GAME" mean?

SFPL hosts game nights on Tuesdays and Thursdays: every Tuesday night is FAMILY GAME NIGHT from 4:30 - 7 and every Thursday night is BOARD GAME NIGHT for AGES 12 & UP starting at 4pm! We also have beginner D&D mini sessions for anyone aged 9& up who is interested in learning how to play tabletop RPGs. Come to the library and participate in any of these programs to earn extra summer reward tickets!

What do we do with the rest of the stamps?

Use them to log your summer adventures and favorites! Write down the name of library programs, activities, and events you really enjoyed; keep track of the names of new foods you try this summer; make a list of new games you play on library game nights and rate or review them! Stick photos or draw pictures of your summer adventures!

Your SFPL Summer Passport is your personal log and journal of your summer 2024! We hope you create a small book of wonderful memories you can treasure forever :)
